Oh that’s the kubelwagon, its kind of Germany’s version of the jeep. It’s pretty much a VW Beetle with a different body on it. It was actually designed by Porsche. That specific one in the picture I’m not sure where it came from, whether original or a replica. Replica bodies can now be purchased and put onto an old VW Beetle frame to make one. But yes, the kubelwagon was the basis of the VW Thing that came out in the 60’s, but I don’t think the one in the picture is a “Thing”.
