The 2011 Dakar
Bubba's Bar 'n' Grill is a proud sponsor of The Tamarugal XC Rally team that will be in the 2011 Dakar running Hondas. The race starts in Buenos Aires just after Christmas. Check out their web site and in particular the sponsors! I'll keep everyone posted with updates and you can also get updates from Bubba at
http://twitter.com/RoadRash66 Brutus PS...I've just heard from Greg and Mike that they will give the present Twitter link on the forum a much needed boost of joie de vivre as some forumites have mentioned that some users may not even know it was there...low profile and all. Sacred cows make the best hamburgers. I bought a doughnut and they gave me a receipt for the doughtnut... I don't need a receipt for the doughnut. I give you money and you give me the doughnut, end of transaction. We don't need to bring ink and paper into this. I can't imagine a scenario that I would have to prove that I bought a doughnut. To some skeptical friend, 'Don't even act like I didn't get that doughnut, I've got the documentation right here... It's in my file at home. ...Under "D".' |

RE: The 2011 Dakar
That is SO COOL! I love Dakar. Now we have even more reason to watch! Thanks, Brutus!
If I'd known you were French, I'd have worn galoshes... |

RE: The 2011 Dakar
Always wanted to do that on a four wheeler. Barring equipment failure, I have never doubted that I could do it.
Of course... I'm at the half-century mark now. (I'd still give it my all) You signed the contract - you must do my bidding

RE: The 2011 Dakar
That'll be great to watch! Someone else mentioned it elsewhere, but um, yeah t-shirts would a great way to help support this too!
Love and respect... Turn up the music and smile! "Adventures..." |

RE: The 2011 Dakar
Hmmm... my original post in this thread went *poof* and vanished. No idea why.
Anyway, I first got interested in the Dakar when I saw Charley Boorman's take on it. Poor bugger broke his hands on day 4. At least now I'll have a team to cheer for! As for the Twitter link, do you have to have a Twitter account to see updates? And do you have to be invited? I know diddly squat about Twitter. Losers visualize the results of failure and live in fear. Winners visualize the results of success and live in abundance. - me |

RE: The 2011 Dakar
The first leg of the rally starts New Year's day and finishes in Lima, Peru on the 15th. Here's the official website for The Dakar:
http://www.dakar.com/index_DAKus.html As for Twitter, I believe you do have to set up an account to get and send Tweets. But it's simple (Hey, if I can do it.....) and free. Sacred cows make the best hamburgers. I bought a doughnut and they gave me a receipt for the doughtnut... I don't need a receipt for the doughnut. RE: The 2011 Dakar
The Dakar also goes through the Atacama Desert. Along with Antartica it is the dryest place on earth with some places where even cactus won't grow and not even a trace of rain has ever fallen. Here's an interesting article. An amazing place.

I wonder why it changed? A secret society perhaps? I like Italian food and Italian roadsters |
