The 2011 Dakar

RE: The 2011 Dakar
I wondered about that too. Initially all requests to receive tweets was approved automatically. Now I have to manually "accept" all requests. I never touched nothin' though. It seems to have a life of its own. Perhaps it IS a secret society thang.

Sacred cows make the best hamburgers.

I bought a doughnut and they gave me a receipt for the doughtnut... I don't need a receipt for the doughnut. I give you money and you give me the doughnut, end of transaction. We don't need to bring ink and paper into this. I can't imagine a scenario that I would have to prove that I bought a doughnut. To some skeptical friend, 'Don't even act like I didn't get that doughnut, I've got the documentation right here... It's in my file at home. ...Under "D".'

RE: The 2011 Dakar
I see. I'm no Twitter expert, but a quick search revealed that twits can be in public mode, where everyone can see them, or a private, protected mode, where only approved people can see them. Yours are now in protected mode.

If that is the way Bubba wants them, then his word is law of course.

Or if it was an accident, maybe it can be switched back to public, seems a little friendlier that way anyway.

Here is a link with a little more info:

Hey - how about some shirts showing the route, with Bubba's Bar & Grill at the halfway point?

Hey who you callling a TWIT? Big GrinBig Grin

As I recall there were some issues whilst Brutus was in Ireland where Facebook and Twitter were having accounts hacked ad infinitum, so they - Twitter and Facebook, made some changes to better protect those of us who use those services. Twitter has made several software changes to make sure that accounts are sending tweets in or out.

That may be the issue here.

RE: The 2011 Dakar
That is correct. Dec 27th and 28th is collection of vehicles. 29th and 30th is set aside for technical and administrative scutineering followed the next night by what I might expect will be quite a New Year's Eve celebration....being Buenos Aires and all! Mar del Plata actually but real close. The race starts on New Year's day, hangover or not....
