If it was not for the fact that I have heard great stuff from these people before, I would have thought it was a bunch of kids in their Dad`s garage limbering up for their first ever rehearsal.

It sounded awful........sorry; I know I will get flamed for this, but...........

How dare you! You cannot criticize the...well not here anyway...

Anybody got a light?

Easy now Rey, let's save the flame thrower for some brick oven pizza or perhaps to deep fry broccoli....Tongue

Yeah it's goofy, someone on another forum questioned if perhaps they'd been listening to Frank Zappa. My untrained ear actually heard flavors of the noodling Copeland did on The Rhythmatist.

I enjoyed it purely from the standpoint that I was first a fan of SC, which lead me to NEP, and here they are together having fun and sharing a part of their private lives with their fans. I'm seeing a group of friends having a good time, plain and simple. They coulda been bangin' pots & pans together and it still would've made me smile Big Grin

Blah blah blah....yada yada yada!

Good eye, yes it is, I got it at the military surplus auction last spring, they were practically giving them away. Its great for lighting the grill too, but with the cost of petrol today, its hard to keep it filled up.

Boy NWo, you can run fast, and I think you look better now without eyebrows.

But seriously, I think here at the Grill we are civilized enough to express an opinion without fear of a flaming, for the most part, right? We just discuss things...

Well-weathered leather, hot metal and oil, the scented country air..

Oh nice! Could you do my back? I'm a little fuzzy on the shoulders and a danger to myself with a razor. Blush

Listening to it a few times now I can hear all kinds of counter point and poly rhythms throughout the piece. Consideration that it's very drummer oriented must be taken into account. Like hearing a guitar player mixed demo, it's drum heavy due to the gravity of the log smackers in the room.

The horn section, not so much I am afraid.

Oh Bleat!

Hmmm, after listening to it I can hear some Jazz and some fusion in it. Not my favorite area, but watching the video it sure seems like they were having fun being goofy. Lotta talent all around at that jam session for sure.

I'm taking a ride with my best friend...I hope he never lets me down again.

I like the part where Danny gets a bit mesmerized by the twirling shiny disk and spins it even faster after a reflective moment. I have a feeling everyone was in a really good mood for this one. Smile More, please!

RE: Count Drumula!
Hey, it was a casual jam, not the cerebral composition that one might expect. Just cool to see them having fun. I never knew that NEP and SC were "just like that." it was cool to me and made me smile. Of course, even though Bubba's having fun obviously, he still looks so serious.

Tim, I understand how you feel. Last year when I brought up a concern about an overbearing subwhoofer at the Jones beach show I was "nuked" by several loyal members (see "poor sound at concerts"). In retrospect I should have kept it to myself but at the time I wanted to "point it out."

The sound at MSG made up for it. In fact, I was so close to Alex's side of the stage that I could hear the drums without processing. That was a thrill...to hear the actual drum with no EQ, delay, etc.

RE: Count Drumula!
I believe Bubba is a very methodical, calculating, and thoughtful person; at least, that's the way he comes off in his interviews. He posted this for a reason and, while I can't presume to read his mind, I do think he's been consciously "putting himself out there" during this tour, more so than ever before. It shows Bubba and some close friends, who happen to be monsters in their own right, having a good time and cutting loose a little bit. It's a complete 180 from the carefully choreographed extravaganza that is a Rush show. I believe giving us this glimpse was very intentional on Bubba's part.
