Broccoli Slaw Salad
I made this for a recent family reunion...
2 packages of Oriental Flavor Ramen Noodles(remove seasoning packets and set aside) 3 TBPS Sesame Seeds 3TBSP Sunflower Seeds(plain or roasted/salted your choice..I use the roasted type) 1 Cup slivered Almonds 1 1lb package of shredded Broc. Slaw Mix(it has broccoli, cabbage, carrots and is found in the fresh produce section) 2 Green Onions (sliced fine) 3 TBSP Rice Wine vinegar 1-2TBPS White Sugar( I taste the dressing to see if the 2nd TBSP is needed) 1/2 Cup Olive Oil 1 TBSP Toasted Sesame Oil 1/2 tsp.of each: Garlic Powder,Powdered Ginger,Salt,Pepper In a 350 degree oven dry toast the sesame seeds and almonds until light brown, then set aside to cool. In a bowl(I use a canning jar)place the set aside seasoning packets, the oils, sugar, spices and vinegar mix well. Take the dry Ramen noodles crush them up, now mix them with the cooled toasted nuts and sesame seeds and also add in the sunflower seeds. Put this into a sealable container or Zip-type bag. In another bowl place the broc.slaw and the green onions pour the dressing over the top toss well and cover. You can allow the broc.slaw with the dressing to set overnight in the fridge(which is what I do) or use right away. When you are ready to serve the salad mix in 1/2 of the almond/seed/noodle conncotion and sprinkle the other 1/2 on top as garnish. If you can't play by OUR rules take your toys and go home!!

RE: Broccoli Slaw Salad
Wow, this sounds great!
Have you tried using fresh garlic and mashing it into one of those little garlic masher thingies? And if so, what would your recommendation be re numbers of medium-sized cloves? ![]() Ain't I Mr Vocabulary today LOVE the sesame oil inclusion. Great stuff with broccoli! RE: Broccoli Slaw Salad
OHR, I would think 2 cloves minced fine would work well also you could put in fresh 1/2-1 tsp. grated ginger root. I just used the pwds because it was quick and easy.
