RE: Red Wine Review
Tonight I had the Argentinian Gason Malbec 2010. Very nice.
Went well with chicken nuggets dipped in Guldens mustard, garlic and parmigiana steam in the bag string beans, and Pillsbury ready bake french bread. Roasted garlic in olive oil appetizer. For desert, my daughter made some banana cream, followed by a bowl of Stop and Shop imitation Frosted Shredded Wheat to be finished with an after dinner Tums.

Oh, I think I'm gonna' like this thread!
I've got a few that I really like, and I see many that I'd love to try! Gotta find another bottle of Zen Of Zin, that was a really good red zin... For Your Dreams to Become Your Reality, Do Not Think "If", Believe in "When". ***I Am A Work In Progress...***

Rosemount Shiraz 2009.
Though I'm not a huge fan of some Shiraz this one was very good and liked by guests as well. "Wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then." "Try to catch the deluge in a paper cup." "Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end." |

RE: Red Wine Review
During the week, we had a bottle of Maggio Family Vinyards Old Vine Zin, 2008. Not pricey, but very very good. Nice deep flavor, dark cherries and a touch of cocoa in there. I'm gonna have to see if I can find more. Problem is, I have no idea where or when I bought it...

RE: Red Wine Review
I know. I hate when that happens.
![]() Tried some German Thomas Vindonissa Dornfelder, a sweet red. It reminded me of the Christmas wines I sampled at a festival outside of Vienna, Austria. I liked it Then we switched over to Bordeaux Merlot-Cabernet 2009 (clever marketing name-fooled me) blend which was dryer, smooth with a sharp tart finish. Tones of oak, walnut and other rugged flavors. "Wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then." "Try to catch the deluge in a paper cup." RE: Red Wine Review
There isn't a lot of tasty, well-priced (<$15) California red wine brought into Alberta, but I've recently discovered Apothic Red, which is Bordeaux-like blend.
Supposedly, they also make a white, but I haven't seen it. ---- I'm not one to believe in magic, but I sometimes have a second-sight.... |
