How to commute on the Washington State ferries
So we live across Puget Sound from Seattle. I work at the local PBS station, and that requires me to get across the sound on a daily basis. Here’s how I do it. 93 Honda VFR 750 (my sixth bike).
![]() Riding is the only economical way (and it’s fun… most times). We scoter trash are loaded first, always make the boat, and are the first off usually. It costs me $84.80 every two weeks for my little 20 ride card (for a car it’s $194.40) Here we are, waiting to go home. ![]() The ride I take from Bremerton to Seattle take 55 minutes so I have some time for other activities. I learned to play guitar on the boat about 15 years ago, but I’m really a keyboard player, so I’ve been looking for a keyboard that I could take along. First it was one of those “roll up” types but the feel of it was very unsatisfying. I found a Yamaha EZ 20 on Craig’s List for $15, and it seems to do the trick. And if it comes of the back and turns into a spray of plastic I won’t be heartbroken. This is my normal booth all set up. I’m currently learning “Take Five”. Takes me about 3 minutes to set up and about 5 to pack. ![]() Sometimes the scenery is quite nice ![]() Here we’re waiting to get off ![]() I’ll take a video of the ride down the road Scythe and I live on someday soon. Bake Dat B*tch!!!
