RE: "Small Tales" - Short Stories, Anyone?
Wow, Muffy! Very interesting story. As Brian W said, there are a few grammatical errors and a couple of things to change, but that shouldn't detract from the story--and it didn't. Overall, a good concept and well written. I can see it being lengthened and turned into a novel.
If I'd known you were French, I'd have worn galoshes... |

Funny thing is Gunga, I "empty" my frustration onto this story... without going back and checking for grammatical errors.
Please feel free to notate these for me, and I may even adjust it. =) What you see is just as it came out. I check my dating and history, but that's about it. Thanks, by the way! Oh - and I do not see Brians post. wt hey? You signed the contract - you must do my bidding

I think I read Brian's post over in the "great reads" thread when he was talking about 1st proofs of books. Sometimes I feel bad about saying anything concerning grammar and punctuation. People tease me about being born with a red pencil in my hand. I make mistakes sometimes, myself---sometimes on purpose, for emphasis, but don't ever take what I say personally. Maybe I'll take you up on the notations. Right now, I have a "project" to finish......

Muffy, every writer I've ever asked for advice has told me to just WRITE. You can go back and edit later, but don't interrupt the flow. Just write it all down until there's no more to write. It's also nice to have friends who will help one edit later.

If you are busy concentrating on grammar and punctuation, you'll lose the turn of the words and character of the story. Just write! If I'd known you were French, I'd have worn galoshes... |

Hello! Yes, my comments were over on the GR thread about galleys, advanced reader copies, etc. I say go for it one and all. I would enjoy reading your work. And I agree with the earlier post as to the secret of writing: just do it! All the authors that visit the store when asked about their 'style' or technique, simply say write - don't stop and see where it takes you. I'm always amazed that some of them had no idea their character was going to do 'that'!

Thank you much! Nothing to offer right now EN. Perhaps my mood will go sour soon and I will think of what Meridian gets into next. =)

LOL) but since it takes a sour mood on your end to get him there, I won't wish that on you any time soon
