RE: The April Brewhaha thread
Hi all, I am in the process of getting a new job. It may still be possible that I will show up for the get together, this will depend on how much(if any) vacation time I can negotiate. I applied for this job shortly after my summer bike ride, and after talking with a good friend of mine who is head of safety for the co. that I'm applying for he has told me the position is going to be opening soon. I discussed this with CD on Facebook, and she understands why I'm doing this...it all comes down to the fact that I have tendonitis in my right shoulder, right elbow, left wrist, and it is now starting in my left elbow(getting older is a bummer, and this job has accelerated it). I'm keeping both fingers crossed that i can negotiate 2 weeks vaca time for next year. I need one week to go to Canada...not a want to trip, but a have to trip. Its a long story I don't feel too comfortable talking about, sorry. The bite of all this is my current job I've been at for 14 years, and until recently it was tolerable, but now its not only affecting my health, but my marriage...and this I won't tolerate. Sooooooo wish me luck in the nextcouple of weeks that I can get this job(the easy part) and I can get the time I'll need.
I'm really SORRY that this happened now , I didn't expect this position to come open so soon. Its a job I can retire from, and I gotta strike while the iron is hot, sayin?

Smoker this ALL about getting together and riding as friends, which means we can change things around and this is also why we started planning this out now. Nothing is set in stone, so keep us informed as much as possible.
If you can't play by OUR rules take your toys and go home!!

But, as said I will meet up with all of you wonderful people...its just that the trip to Canada is a sort of...how do I say it without seeming either melodramatic or a complete loon, the release i need. I heard once that if you don't deal with your problems, they will deal with you....that's what this trip to Canada is. Nothing more, nothing less. I can say that this site has made me feel better than I have in a while and I want to say thank you to everyone here. I will keep all you great people posted, thanks again.

RE: The April Brewhaha thread
Hey guy....no need to apologize. Take care of you Mrs SG and your life. Remember too, that when one door closes many more open, and what we want you to do is take care of the things that need taking care of...go grab this opportunity and dont ever look back. You have to make it count while you can. There will be time to adjust and make changes. Heck we might even have two of these meet ups, and you are only 50 miles or so from me anyways. As far as Canada....if you dont go I will!!
Keep us informed. Lean a bit if need be. Go forth and conquer those things you need to, and for gosh sakes be safe! We'll be right here! This is just one of those challenges that life tosses at us from time to time. Make it count! For You Steve & Monica - Your Love will forever shine on in our hearts!!!

RE: The April Brewhaha thread
I agree with Boomer, SG. Don't apologize and be thankful this job opportunity has come up. I'm bummed that I won't be able to meet everyone this time, as well, but I don't think all these good folks will be dropping off the planet anytime soon. There will be plenty of times to meet up. Good job opportunities don't happen frequently. Do what you have to do and we'll be here in the meantime. And if you have to slay some demons, Canada ain't a half bad place to do it!
If I'd known you were French, I'd have worn galoshes... |
