RE: The April Brewhaha thread
Wow boomer...you and Mr. and Mrs 2Beers did an excellent job with all the routing. The Missus and I shall be looking thru and submit to you our choices to add to the group, but either way, its (Chico accent implanted) LOOKING GOOD! We shall be hapy with the group decision I shall think. Man!...I'm chomping at the bit(reservedly at this time) to meet up and do this.
Again, thank you Boomer and Mr. and Mrs. 2Beers. This is gonna be some real fun! ![]() Canyon, and Burma...I'm hoping you can make it. If not...who knows, I may show up sometime on my thumper.

RE: The April Brewhaha thread
I have been following this thread for a while now and was wondering. Hypothetically, if a person wanted to join up with you folks, what would be the best area to fly into? Would it be Minneapolis/St. Paul or ??
Any feedback would be most welcome... |

RE: The April Brewhaha thread
That is a possibilty. You could take I-35 south to I-90 east into LaCrosse, WI. Then pick up Hwy 35 south into Praire Du Chien,WI no sweat. What do the rest of the gang think?

RE: The April Brewhaha thread
I'll confer w/ Mr.2Beers, but I would think MN would be better than MKE(Milwaukee).

RE: The April Brewhaha thread
I would think Minneapolis too, and then go to Eau Claire to meet up that evening for the ride on day 2.
Another option would be to fly into Dubuque,(Iowa), and drive to Prairie Du Chien, if you wanted to be there for day 1. The Groundhog lied. |

RE: The April Brewhaha thread
I suggest your closest point of approach would be Minneapolis/St Paul and then a regional flight into Dubuque, Iowa. I dont know how big Prairie Du Chien is but I do know Dubuque is a stop you can get to without too much trouble. From Dubuque you would have to rent a car to meet in Prairie Du Chien. Nettie's idea of meeting up in Eau Claire is a viable option as well. Just depends on what you can or want to do.

Hypothetically, if a person wants to join up with us folks, does that mean said person's wifemate will be joining in??! (Soooo exciting.....!) AHEM. I've conferred w/Boomer re: the proposed "shedjule," and long story short: we really want to join you folks, but only could swing a weekend visit (i.e. AFTER all the riding was done). Would anyone be available to fit in a Sat/Sun [May 12/13] meet-up at a destination along the proposed route for Day 4? What I'm envisioning is me 'n' the hubby traveling from S. IN on Fri 5/11 and stopping in Chicago (maybe even Milwaukee?) for Fri night. Sat 5/12 we could make our way to Fon du Lac (just north of your final destination point for the proposed Day 4), or maybe even Manitowoc to connect w/the group. From there....either backtrack south as a group to another point for a Saturday overnight, then visit/sightsee/hang out Sunday?.....I dunno. I'm TOTALLY throwing this off the top of my head. Ultimately we'd have to head home Monday morning at the latest. If you folks feel like your riding itinerary will wipe you out to extend the visit through the weekend, or if you're just not available for the weekend, I understand. I totally dig that this is designed in mind to be a "scooter trash" tour, so if we can't work it out, so be it. But as I told Boomer, "I'd hate to opt out if we can work out.....well, anything!" Thoughts? Rebuttals? Any other non-scooter folk keen on joining in if a weekend meet-up is doable? Seems like we have some MI/IL folks lurking about...
Blah blah blah....yada yada yada! |

RE: The April Brewhaha thread
If we are able to meet up, they only days we will have available is Friday evening to travel, Saturday to visit, and Sunday for travel home. It is about a 7-8 hour drive from my house to Escanaba. The kids are still in school at that time and my oldest needs to be monitored with his school work during the week.

RE: The April Brewhaha thread
We'll be giving this a second look see. I know theres some folks who want to come, but we're going to have trouble fitting all our schedules into one week. The other option, and I hate to think of this one, is holding it later in the year. That will cause a lot of headaches with sightseer traffic, but weekdays might not be as bad. The bottom line is if you cant attend that week, but want to attend - give us some ideas so we can work from those!

I could possibly take off on Friday and drive up there, meeting you guys as you come in off the road that day, and then riding back with the group on Saturday, to Theresa. OR I could meet you in Theresa when you get back. Theresa is a short hop from Milwaukee. I know that I can only take one day off though, and I'd have to put in for the day right after the 1st of the year. Doing this later in the summer means possibly running into the tour schedule for Bubba as well. Just a consideration there. The Groundhog lied. |
