RE: Nature
I like summer the best around here, even when it's hot. There's so much going on in the city outdoors, since we have to be inside during the winter.
I like to head down to the lakefront, or the botanical gardens. I'm going to enjoy my backyard this year, as do a little digging in the dirt! However, my favorite thing to do is to head down to the farmer's market. There's something about shopping for food in the open air market that just can't be duplicated. The Groundhog lied. |

RE: Nature
I like all the seasons...as long as I can run, which is what I'm back to doing. Its really great during winter. Its sooo quiet and clear. Not as many people out either, so I see much more wildlife. Last winter I was able to run to within 30+ feet of a deer...very cool.

RE: Nature
I really like the fall the best. I just love when the heat breaks a bit, and you can smell the leaves. A cooler day with a nice warm sun - yeah, that's the ticket! I just took myself out for a brief walk around the hood. I stared at the ground the whole time, but was seeing much inside my head. Sometimes when the family gets the crankies I just need to get out and let it all settle in my head a bit. I become the decision-maker as to what we need to do when on the weekends, and it's always chores and errands and unfun stuff like that, so no matter what I decide, I get grumbles. Ah well. My walk was nice. =) I'm ordering snow shoes for my 4-year-old today, in preparation for the white season. Now we've all got them. No excuses!

Don't get out as much as I used to but I try to walk as often as possible. I live out in the boonies, so I can watch everything from the window but it's better to get out in it. I love late spring and early fall best, when the weather is usually warm - just right.
But Bubba sure does make tons of snow sound fun! ... in a world where I feel so small I can't stop thinking big! |

RE: Nature
We love Lake Superior. We can spend hours just walking along the beaches, picking up lake glass/stones or just sit and enjoy the sounds of the water as it laps or crashes upon the shore. We've been there during all seasons and we find them all to be enchanting.
If you can't play by OUR rules take your toys and go home!!

A very beautiful summer place...I'd lovre to see it in the middle of winter, if nothing more than to view the lake frozen. I have seen Lake Erie when its frozen(the part that does get frozen ) over and it is quite pretty and peaceful.

RE: Nature
I enjoy walking in the woods with Pop and Major. Pop (now 94) and I have been taking walks in our woods for years and years. I remember having camp fires and cooking hotdogs on late summer nights, and listening to Pops many stories. He is truly a remarkable grandfather. I'm very lucky.
