Why, yes it is! That is my Mother's favorite painting and I am rather fond of it myself too. It is the "Stairway to Paradise" painting. She looks at the painting and can envision walking up the stairs, and at the top when you look to the left you will see Heaven.

Well, how about that. Personally I'm not religious, but I do really like the painting, and I am set to inherit it some day. Of course I hope to wait a good long time, and until then I can admire it on their wall.

I like Italian food and Italian roadsters

Markus, that must have bee so scary! Lorna kept her head and good for her - Wow.

OT: I have a print of Kinkade's painting of Sleeping Beauty's Castle. He did several Disney-themed ones which I also have my eye on....

RE: Let's See Your Pets!!
I have a friend from Great Lakes salvage, a diver, and when I told him the story, the first thing he said when I mentioned Lornas heroics, he stopped me and said
" don't tell me Lorna went out there on the ice"
"Yeah she did!"
"Mark" do you realize what could have happened if Lorna went in?"
I said "NO, what do you think would have happened?"
He asked " what happened to you after you walked in the water?"
"I couldn't breathe so I turned around"
He says, "so now Lornas in, the dogs are in, you're on the other side trying to get out, think about it"
"Now you have to get back in there and try to pull her out "
He got mad at us but was very thankful that we made it.
We got scolded!
We would have had it no other way, would have died trying, rather then watch those kids go under!
We're not looking for accolades here, we're just shookin up by the event and I am very proud of my wife for her instinctive bravery.
If I can offer a cautionary word, watch out for these types of things, I saw the ice and new it was a hazard, I really didn't think my dogs would go out there.
I stayed up all night thinking about what if?

You don't understand. "head pets" are a teacher's nightmare.

RE: Let's See Your Pets!!
Markus, when things like that happen we often don't think. We just go into action. It's part of what makes us human - that we are willing to risk our lives to save another. Joseph Campbell talked about this in The Power Of Myth, as it's one of the things that sets us apart as a species. Total strangers will risk their life to save someone who is in danger. Why? Because it's the right thing to do. It's the ultimate act of compassion (Campbell was speaking to that).

I can just imagine you staying up all night doing the "what if?" game. That, too, is what makes us human. This is for you, Lorna and the fur kids... [Image: hugsmile1.gif]

Aha - yes of course they would be.......my MIL`s patients are kids (as she does orthodontic work), which is whyt she gets "hair pets" so often.

Even the thought of them makes me itch a little....
