Appetizer Meatball Sauce???
Anyone have a good sauce to go over those small cocktail meatballs you eat with a toothpick? I've made the Swedish version before, but am looking for something a bit different for this year's New Year's Eve Partay. Thinking like a tangy BBQ or plum sauce perhaps...???
Many thanks! "Whoever said 'Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels,' has never tried bacon..." Unknown |

RE: Appetizer Meatball Sauce???
The recipe I could point you to for Barbeque sauce would take a few hours to make, so I have more of a presentation suggestion.
You know those chocolate fountain's you can buy (probably cheaply right now around the holiday's)? You CAN fill those full of barbeque sauce and have a barbeque sauce fountain! Then everyone can dip their meatballs or little smokies or chicken nuggets, whatever you want to dip! Warm it up, pour it in, and have fun!

Ohhh, brilliant idea HwdGrl! You could even have cheese curds or small chunks of string cheese to slather up also.

RE: Appetizer Meatball Sauce???
We just use a "sweet 'n' sassy" sauce (kinda sweet w/a spicy kick), available from a local BBQ joint....do you have a local fave that sells their sauce in bottles? Better than store-bought, easier than homemade, and nobody needs to know your "ancient Chinese secret, huh?!"
Blah blah blah....yada yada yada! |

Quick and yummy: a bottle of good BBQ sauce combined with red currant jelly.

RE: Appetizer Meatball Sauce???
Great suggestions ya'll! I'm all about quick & easy! We have a great local place called Dinosaur BBQ that has an amazing sauce, but I really like the idea of combining it with with the currant jelly Skythe. Saw a similar recipe online that just calls for chili sauce & jellied cranberry sauce.
Have a fun, safe, & fantabulous New Year!!! "Whoever said 'Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels,' has never tried bacon..." Unknown |
