Well if it has Gavin Harrison it will certainly rock. An amazing drummer.

And indeed, it does!
His drumming is so tasty; such wonderful, clever fills.

Yep. He is another one where you think when God was handing out the talent ingredients sneezed, and a double or triple dose of the recipe fell into the mix.

Indeed. He is insanely talented and musical.

So what are you all listening to lately?
I am stuck on a Indie Swedish band called "The Amazing" lately. My intro was their latest CD (2016) called "Ambulance." I also just got their 2015 CD "Picture You."

Lovely, thick atmospheres dripping with reverb and tremolo. Cool vocals.
Recommended!

I'm listening to all my normal 70,s and 80's rock and metal. I was interested if anyone has tried In Ear Monitors, especially those who play to see what they think. I'm thinking of trying some.

No, I am very curious but have never tried them. Let us know when you do.

Will do. I think I will take the plunge with Shure SE535 as these seem to have great reviews and Dave Weckl uses them. At £350 I don't want to get it wrong though. From what I see most musicians seem to use IEM on stage these days and I read that they have near double the sound isolation of normal over ear headphones.

RE: Listening to..(2)
My hunch is that most of us would choose to use them if we could try them.

(But I do recall an interview on that Smithsonian Channel documentary on Music & Tech where a well-known musician said he just couldn't get used to them. He described how he was playing solo keyboard at the edge of the stage and somehow his IEM mix included too much crowd sounds. He said that he continually heard an on-going conversation of a guy and a gal in the first row or two. She kept saying how ill she felt and he kept asking if they should leave or not. He said it was torture!)

That's what worries me. And people saying if they smile then the seal is broken and sound pours in until you re-seat it. There is the baby SE215 which has the same Isolation but not the same sound quality as the 535 which less than £100. It's the same build etc. I could try that and see if I can get on with them. If all good then move up, but £100 down, or risk it and not like them and £350 down.
