Atlanta 2012 Part 1 The Ghost Brothers of Darkland County

Well day 1 was travel, so there’s not a lot from that day except this shot of the Spy Bus. We had a late dinner at a restaurant downtown, and this was parked outside. We were surprised by the wimpyness of thier supposed hot wings. As we were finishing a large group of frat boys and their dates loaded onto the bus. There could have been alcohol involved.

The next day was show day. We took a little side trip to a district they call Little Five Points, very bohemian. In front of a club was this bike and sidecar setup. Forgive me a moment of motorcycle geeknes ( I know you will) this is one cool setup.

Allright, on to the show. My wife and I are Beta testers for the Steven King web site and a perk from that is getting to know Marsha, Steve’s personal assistant. That’s how we wound up with the invite for the opening night. Here we are walking to the theater.

and during intermission.

The lighting effects were terrific and the production company took great advantage of the trap door lift in the center of the stage. For the opening number “The Shape” rose up out of a deep red fog to sing “That’s Me”, the opening number.
“When you want to take a life,
Or steal your brother’s wife,
That’s me! That’s me!”

Next part 2 The After Party!!!

You may wonder, if we have "connections", why we were sitting up on the Mezzanine level. Marsha knew that we'd be able to see the entire set better up there -- and so we did!

Very interesting motorscycle there. I think it was in the first Mad Max movie there was a scene with a bike and a sidecar like that, with a clear dome that would cover the passenger. There was some girl that would ride in there.

Overall looks like a fun event!

I like Italian food and Italian roadsters

Nice to see Steve King making the point that if you have earned your money living the US Dream, then you should pay your taxes due.......no offshoring it, or getting around it....

Always liked his books, and he has gained a lot of respect for his stance on this too.

NWo, most of us at the website agree with him on this. But every time he is quoted about anything political (or it is in one of his books), we get an influx of trolls who think he ought to just STFU. Like he should have no opinion on anything other than what he does for a living. Of course, we help Marsha deal with them. Because, hey, the man is a citizen, he votes, he pays taxes (and he's right about that) and that gives him every right to have -- and disseminate -- an opinion.

I am glad they do - I thought it was a brilliant speech / comment, by a man respected as probably the best author in history (who has made a considerable fortune from his work), to say along the lines we should all bear the pain in paying......
