RE: Birds and Butterflies
On my ride yesterday, l didn't see much wild fauna. I did see a couple Goldfinches and a single ground squirrel that quickly bolted into the underbrush right after l made the turn onto the road he was inspecting.

I'm taking a ride with my best friend...I hope he never lets me down again.

Aww, goldfinches. My cat (Monkey Moo) is known as the lizard queen here. Yesterday, she caught her 1st bird...a lesser goldfinch, or as I call them, Lester G. Finch Sad

If I'd known you were French, I'd have worn galoshes...

RE: Birds and Butterflies
My mom is now in a nursing home and Thursday was her birthday. As an interactive gift for her and the other residents, I bought a seed feeder and a hummingbird one as well. Both have had action already. We were sitting on the patio Saturday when something soaring in the distance caught my eye. So I wheeled my mom back from under the tree and and told her, look up! There's a bald eagle. She'd never seen one before. It did not approach the feeders.

What a great gift for your mum! Could she handle a small/light pair of binoculars to get a closer look at the visitors?

Re: bald eagle, I'm guessing your feed was a wee bit too vegan for its liking...Tongue

RE: Birds and Butterflies
Got my daughter a few seconds this morning,

We were talking about how cheeses are made and how I saw my Italian relatives make various types from scratch. I
mentioned how milk from different animals is used to creat certain types.

I told her that my favorite was cheese made from "Cardinal Milk" and she looked at me funny and I said "I can't believe you didn't know that Cardinals are mammals!"

I had her for a second until the whole family burst into laughter.

Good question BG. I'll take mine and see if she can handle them. With the neuropathy spreading into her hands, she struggles with some fine motor control, for example - putting her own hearing aids in is beyond her now. She and the residents can get pretty close to the feeder action so far. As for the eagle (again) I/we were in the right place at the right time. Still no camera, sorry!!!
