I'm back! Oh well, since I seen you all the last time, I did a little excursion with my church denomination (I'm still an atheist). I am a Unitarian Universalist and I attended their G.A. General Assembly up in Portland Oregon. Yet just before the conference, which started on a Wednesday, I was staying in an area called Troutdale Oregon. Let me begin by saying, it's weird to see the sun at 9 p.m. But I digress. I then was invited to meet a friend I met on Skype and he invited me to a place in Portland called Hair of a Dog: It's a microbrewery and I ordered a beer called Fred:

I also ordered a bowl of chili. The ale was 12 Oz but unlike the corporate beer called Platinum, Fred was 10 percent ABV. Not thinking much about it, I took a sip and it was smooth. It wasn't hoppy as the ale went down smoothly. I actually enjoyed it. Then after drinking half my ale, I was actually getting kind of dizzy. You know, the space between a head change and drunk? My head was spinning and I slowed my drinking down. I ate the chili and announced that I think I'm drunk! My friend was laughing.

Then after the chili arrived, I asked for a glass of water. The water was delicious and I was drinking water and eating chili. After about an hour of eating and chatting, I finished my ale. My friend asked if I wanted another ale? I said Noooooooo, I'm driving. I sobered up but I swore I will never drink again on an empty stomach.

Fred is delicious. It's not full of hop and it went down smoothly. If in Oregon, go check out Hair of the Dog and drink some Fred...but if you do, don't drive.
